My online shopping experience was absolutely terrible, and I want this review to serve as a warning to others. Today, I shopped for glasses and found a really good price on Pentax ZT100. The website priced it at $40.60, so I built my order. But when I went to check out, the pricing jumped to $58.00! I was just about to submit a screenshot, and they raised the price! It felt incredibly shady, and what a hassle it was trying to get help when they have no CS Phone # and the botchat couldn't assist. This dishonest pricing and frustrating lack of support compelled me to leave a review and try to engage with customer service, hoping to get an honest answer about what happened.
Customer: I'm calling about an order I tried to place today. The price changed mysteriously right before checkout. CS Rep: I apologize for any frustration you've experienced. Could you please provide the item you were trying to purchase? Customer: Yes, it was for a Pentax ZT100. It showed $40.60 on the product page, but then suddenly jumped to $58.00 when I went to pay. I even have a screenshot from before it changed. CS Rep: I understand how concerning that would be. Let me pull up your browsing session or cart details. Sometimes there can be dynamic pricing or additional options selected. Customer: I confirmed no options were added, and it was the standard frame color. Your previous agent blamed a "first lens" charge, which is separate, and then the frame color. It just seems like a bait and switch. I had proof, and he still gave me the runaround.
